Hope Greenwood (she/her) is a passionate collaborator, actor and artist. Barefoot raised in Colorado, now based in New York City, she has trained and worked in the Boston, London and New York City markets with experience in both classical and contemporary projects.
However, she’d tell you she learned how to act the same way she learned to cook…by watching closely, messing up a lot and figuring out when to leave something alone. She has the “rare ability to feel like both a shakespearean ingénue and the dry-witted rebel in an A24 film, often at the same time.”
Hope gravitates toward characters who are a little bit offbeat, a lot a bit tender and always sharper than they let on. She’s drawn to work that lives in the in-between, funny until it’s not, intimate until it stings, large as life gets but grounded in the most human truths.
She’s currently continuing her training with director Ellie Heyman’s weekly Somatic Scene Study.
Recent credits include Mike Bartlett’s COCK, Trudy and Max In Love, Proof, Desdemona in Shakespeare’s Othello and independent films currently in post production in the heart of NYC.
